Five Mile Creek Arch Bridge By Bill Coleman Five Mile Creek Bridge is located just outside Bessemer, Alabama, near McCalla, on the Old Huntsville Road, which is no longer in use. It sets next to Rock Mountain Lake Road which is next to Interstate 59. It was constructed in 1915 and was one of the first concrete bridges in Alabama. It was in use for about fifty years. Presently, it is protected as a park by the Alabama Highway Department. The bridge is on the National Register of Historic Places.
