Winter in Alabama Is Great! By Bill Coleman I love the winter in north central Alabama. As I sit here on March 3 its sunny and 74 degrees. We'll get another few degrees before it begins cooling for the day. We do have cold snaps when it seems to chill you to the bone, especially when the wind is blowing, but its short and sweet and actually a kind of nice for a change. We got a little snow one night in February, but it melted by 10 o'clock the next morning. The kids were upset because it was on a Saturday. Least little bit of snow closes all the schools, because we don't get enough of it to invest in snow and ice removal.
